Do you have a signature scent? I do...I have been wearing some sort of vanilla since I was in high school (I am allergic to perfumey scents!). For the past 10 years or so, I have been using Comptor Sud Vanilla Abricot...a delicious sweet smell that reminds me of bakeries and candy stores. I get stopped all the time by people, men, women and children, asking what "that smell is." The downside...very expensive! I was totally thrilled to find FlameWorks, a fabulous Etsy shop that sells soap, body lotion, lip balm, body mist spray, even deodorant (!), in this absolutely devine fresh fruity fragrance. I have every item...and I love them all. The scent lasts the entire day and I smell as good in the evening as I did when I walked out the house in the morning! The deodorant is one of my favorite products...all natural vegan ingredients and...it actually works! Check out the entire product range HERE including other scents like Lemon Sugar, Pink Sugar, Brown Sugar & Fig....YUM!!
I bought these two really cool items while in Chicago from BB Dakota. Edgy urban clothing at really really affordable price points! The jacket, a warm fleece in a wear-with-all navy, was under $70! The cool maxi dress seen above...under $50! I love the the cool, modern boho look of the dress. I will wear it with flip flop sandals and some long funky earrings (which I am going to make today!) for an easy day look. Check out their entire collection HERE and find a retailer near you!

I am obsessed with lip balm since it seems my lips are dry no matter what time of the year it is! The lip balms by Flameworks are now my lip balm of choice. Available in 9 yummy flavors, they are all natural and feel so amazing on my lips. There is entirely no waxy feel to it...it just slides on. Seriously...I have 4 of them and keep them near me at all times. One in my office, one in my car (although will have to change since that one started to melt with the 90 degree heat this weekend!), one next to my bed, and one in my purse every day. I got the sweet flavors (tiramisu, creme brulee, sugar kisses and chocolate) and they are every bit as delicious as they sound! Only $5.25 for 2!!!

I just got these three amazing tees by AHPeele, a fabulous shop on etsy that creates beautiful, edgy, and totally cool art tees. The husband and wife duo design and print all of the the clothing, taking much of their inspiration from traditional Japanese themes, Tokyo style, nature, street art, and life. Ridiculously soft and extremely figure flattering, I have been wearing them non-stop! They are fantastic!! Prices start at only $28, and right now, they are having one of their awesomes special deals...buy 2 and get 1 free!! Trust me...you will love these shirts. I am already deciding on which 2 more I want to get!!

Designed to evoke the effortless grace and style of high-quality European clothing, Robin’s Egg Pink is a fabulous line of women's and children's wear that is perfect for a Sunday brunch or just an everyday romp! I got the beautiful tea jacket pictured above in a gorgeous sunny tangerine color, but there are several other fantastic colors available as well! (BTW...that is NOT me in the photo above...that is the shop's model!!). Perfect for the Spring! Lightweight and unstructured, I wore it with a pair of denim trousers and a white linen t-shirt for an elegant and fun look. There is a matching little jacket available for children which would be so cute for a family picture! Only $55, this jacket is an affordable luxury!!

Cozy and chic, this scarflett by Haute Hooked Designs has my favorite combination of colors (orange and blue) and a heavy dose of texture with the ultra soft chenille and the wispy bits of ribbon and yarn. Plus, the gorgeous orange flower has a fantastic center brooch for a dash of romantic charm. This makes a great alternative to a necklace and I have been wearing it often when my fleece jacket and jeans is just too casual for fancy jewelry! Get your own HERE.

Oohh!! I loved Etsy's front page last night! The gray and red theme is fabulous! One of my favorites is the City Streets Cable hat (top right corner) by Prairie Dog. It would add a cool edgy look to my black winter coat! And, the red flower is a lovely feminine touch! And, I love the grey Poppy Wheel Pendant by Tina Rice (middle center). I already own a pair of her earrings (see below) and they are an everyday favorite of mine. Handcrafted from copper and then kiln-fired with an enamel glaze, they hang from oxidized sterling silver earwires and are very urban and chic!

These fabulous Liljor earrings, in bold bright red, are equal parts playful and polished. They look like little bells on my ears! Handcrafted from sterling silver and vintage glass beads, I wore them yesterday with a black turtleneck sweater and my hair pulled back, and it was all I needed to look funky and fancy. Only $21 at Execute Me.
Jennifer Morris is one of my favorite jewelry designers (see my previous post HERE)...I am happy to say that I already own 7 pairs of her earrings!! Handcrafted from polymer clay and embellished with painted flowers and crystals...her creations are colorful wearable pieces of art! Here is a picture of me wearing my newest pair! Check out her shop to get YOUR own!!
I just got this fabulous necklace by Sprout Jewelry. Handcrafted in NYC by metalsmith artist Krista DeJoseph, it is a totally cool low-key necklace that goes with everything in my wardrobe. The petite necklace, with its spiky sterling silver spines, has a unique and edgy beauty. Graceful, organic, and industrial, there is something here for everyone. Plus, the pieces are totally affordable...this necklace was only $28!! Get yours HERE.
I just got this fabulous dress by designer Reddoll. Handcrafted from ultra soft cotton jersey in a gorgeous raspberry/wine color, this dress just felt so amazing on! The skirt is cut in a full circle with an asymmetrical line that seemed to float around me. And, the navy accenting at the top was a pretty and edgy twist. Since it is so cold right now here in Cleveland, I wore this with a navy stretch turtleneck and knee-high boots for a cool urban look, but I cannot wait to wear this in the summer with some wedges or strappy sandals. Check out more of her designs HERE.

I don't wear much makeup when I am on vacation...I don't see the point in putting on a full face when I am in and out of the pool so often. One thing I do always wear though is a SPF colored lip balm. My hands down favorite is the Lip Tint from Aveda. Available in 8 gorgeous colors, they have an SPF of 15 and are also super moisturizing. I have 4 colors...verbena (a reddish-pink-brown), copper (a bronzy-copperish with lots of shimmer), spice (a light shimmery brown), and coco plum (my favorite...a brownish-purple). These protected my lips from the harsh Mexico sun and gave me a bit of polish when laying at the pool and getting drinks and lunch. At $11 each...I can afford to get all of the colors....

I just got this amazing top by Eno Daro at Smashing Darling. Feminine and figure-flattering, the simple bodice and subtle pewter color is elevated to couture status with the lush details and intricate trim in complimentary hues of lavender and gray. My initials were hand-stitched into the side seaming...so the piece is uniquely my own. See more of her amazing creations HERE.

I have long been an admirer of the super cool designs of TreeHouse28 (see my previous posting HERE). And, now, I can happily say that I am a proud owner. I just received my long-sleeve hoodie in avocado green cotton-lycra ($65). Custom designed to my measurements, this top is fitted, flattering and super-comfortable. It looks great with jeans or wide legged trousers for work and has already become a favorite piece in my Fall wardrobe. Available in tons of gorgeous colors, including some new ones for the Fall, you can get your own top HERE.

For the past year or so, I have been curtailing my spending so that I can get some of my debt paid down. However, I do, on occasion, go shopping, and, when I do, I will showcase some of those great purchases here! First up, the fabulous jewelry of Lisa Gastelum of TQB Designs. Tiny, delicate beaded rounds, hand-woven in the traditional gourd stitch, and containing anywhere from 50 - 500 individual beads, are so feminine and create a cheerful little burst of color to my neckline. I bought the three necklaces pictured here (prices start at only $34!), but she has a shopful of little treasures for you to check out, including gorgeous earrings and bracelets. Utterly feminine and whimsical, without being fussy, I have been wearing one of these every day for the past week. They are the perfect accessories to make an ordinary pair of jeans and a t-shirt seem, well, not so ordinary!! Check out her shop HERE to get your own everyday essential!

I have to confess that I love watching the makeup sessions on QVC. They really are brilliant at making you want to buy everything they use on the models. No exception with the Laura Gellar Makeup Studio line. I was fascinated watching all the products they use to make the women look gorgeous. I restrained myself however and simply bought the Welcome Matte Skin Enhancer. A gel-based oil and shine absorber, this small, pretty tube easily pops into my purse and is great to keep my skin looking shine free. A tiny bit applied over the face, even over my existing makeup, really does make my face look very fresh and makes my skin look very smooth (dimishes the look of those yucky pores!!). Very lightweight, I really like this new product. See more of her line HERE.

I was shopping at Sephora last week and I got a free sample size tube of Kiss Me mascara. Now, I am the type of person that gets a sample, tries it, and very rarely goes out and actually buys the product. Except NOW. This is, hands down, the coolest mascara I have ever tried. I actually went to their website to read exactly what I was using after my first experience with it. Let me explain. Kiss Me Mascara forms tiny water-resistant “tubes” around your lashes rather than painting them like conventional mascaras. I didn't really understand what this meant until I washed my face and there were literally little "tubes" in my hands. It was really freaky!! I went swimming with it yesterday...stayed put. No raccoon eyes. I was pretty impressed. All you have to do is apply gentle pressure when you wash your face, and the product comes right off. And, I can tell you that my eyelashes looked amazing! I am blonde, pretty fair, and my eyelashes are pretty sparse. These made them look lush and long, but not spindly. This is definitely worth checking out for all you mascara lovers out there! As for me, when my sample is up, I will be running to the store to buy a regular size tube! Stop painting your lashes...TUBE them!!
