The Seventh Day of Christmas

On the Seventh Day of Christmas, my true love gave to me: These custom, made-to-order shoes by Zerkahloostrah. Gorgeous red leather with red stitching detail, outside lace closure, piped edges and a funky cork platform and 2 inch heel. How amazing would these look peeping out from under a pair of black wide leg trousers!

Shoes on Sale

So, I love Anthropologie shoes, but I love them even more when they are on sale! It is not too late to buy cool shoes for the summer (I personally think sale season is the best time!) and almost the entire collection of wedges and sandals are on sale! These are a few of my favorites...how fabulous would they look paired with some great wide legged trousers or some sleek sleeveless wrap dresses! Check out more styles HERE.

This Bag Was Made For Walking

I absolutely had to feature this bag because I think it is so hilarious and statement making. Yes, you are seeing that right. A'N'D, a fabulous clothing and accessories line, created a zipper top leather handbag made with men's oxford shoe soles. Fashion with a sense of humor. How wonderful!!

The Third Day of Christmas

Three french hens or these plush navy suede boots from Chie Mihara at Anthropologie. Okay, so I am a bit obsessed with the footwear at Anthropologie...but these are so hot and would look amazing with a wrap dress and some funky jewelry!

Well Heeled

As a lawyer, I count on accessories to make me stand out from the other "suits." Jewelry, Handbags, and, of course, Shoes. These glamorous Lipstick Mary Janes with striped conular heels by Georgina Goodman are another slam dunk from Anthropologie and a fabulous and easy way to feminize a pantsuit. At $298 though, I will have to wait until they go on sale. Sigh.

think! shoes

I was in desperate need for boots this season. Ones that I could wear to work with dress pants and on the weekends with jeans. Ones that were fashionable and, dare I say it, comfortable as well. So, when I saw these amazing Angie boots by Think! at Zappos, I fell in love with the style. Rich brown goat leather, 2 inch heel, curved toe, amazing contrast stitch details and a feminine fabric button accent. Then, I read that they are specifically designed to support the entire foot and propel your foot forward when walking. Okay. I don't really know what that means, but I am sold. (Besides with free shipping both ways at Zappos, I have nothing to lose!). 2 days and $318 later, they are on my feet and well on their way to becoming my favorite pair of shoes ever! (And lets be honest, at that price, they had better be around for awhile!!) I wore them to work yesterday. At least 5 people stopped me to compliment my shoes. No kidding! After 8 hours on my feet and then another few hours before I actually got home at night, I had worn my new boots for over 10 hours, and, drum roll please, they were still comfortable. Wow. So, I wore them again today, on my day off, with jeans, to my daughter's Halloween party (again at least 5 comments from other parents!) and out trick or treating. Again, super comfortable and super fashionable (I mean look at them!). As I say time and time again, comfort needn't be boring!

Well Heeled

How often do you find a pair of shoes that are both stylish and comfortable? Unfortunately, not as often as I would like. So, I was thrilled to discover Lisa Nading, a cool line of footwear that is on the cutting edge of fashion and still totally wearable. Using soft Italian leathers in unexpected color combinations, she creates whimsical slingbacks, mules and boots. This square toe mule in scarlet red leather has beautiful stitching and a super cool angled wooden heel. The best part about these shoes, other than how gorgeous they are, is that the heels are specifically designed to sit at the center of the actual heel, where the point of balance is, so that they truly are comfortable to wear. I got mine at www.shopcopperpenny.com for $164, and they look equally fabulous with trousers for work or denim for play.

Spruce it Up

I can't afford Manola. Or Jimmy Choo. But, I am happy to say that there are some pretty chic options out there. One of my favorite stores, Anthropologie, carries the most amazing shoes from some of the coolest and hippest designers. One of my favorites for the Fall is the Cloverfield, a spruce green calfskin pump that is professional enough to wear to work and sophisticated enough to wear for an evening out. A 2.5" heel is high but comfortable enough to walk all day in. Plus, it is reinforced with rubber to avoid slippage. Available right now for $178.00.

Eastern Garden

I know summer is ending. I know I should be looking at boots. But, how did I ever miss these shoes? I am loving these super high (4.25") Firecandle wedges from Anthropologie. Wedges have always worked well for me. As a working mother, they are ultra chic but still super comfortable. See? Comfort needn't be boring! Here, the great contrasting textures of the graphic flowers with the orange crochet trim and leather tassel ties are perfect for a Sunday brunch or a night on the town. A splurge at $268.00, but a truly fabulous addition to my wardrobe.
