Urban Flux

With Father's Day just around the corner, I wanted to feature a few designers this week who make some pretty cool products for the men in your life. Flux Production is a fabulous store that offers some really cool urban accessories for men (and women too!). I especially love the wave scarf (pictured above) , the silk tree ties (pictured next) and the entire collection of men's tees (pictured last). Each item is handcrafted in Brooklyn, NY, and features the most fabulous nature inspired prints. They give a fantastic cool vibe without being overly artsy.

OZ style

Jarren Borghero is the designer behind the Australian label Temono, a stylish and fabulous accessories line that makes gorgeous handbags, wallets, belts and jewelry out of leather. Each piece is handmade, from the original sketch, to the sourcing of materials, to the actual construction. The attention to detail is evident in all of the pieces, but my favorite, is the Te Fold bag. Large enough to fit all of your daily needs, without looking like a duffle bag, this is a stylish and edgy way to carry your daily necessities. Hand crafted from supple leather in either brown or dark red, you can choose whether to add a pop of punchy color in your choice of green, blue or aqua. Perfect for a man or woman! See more of his amazing collections HERE.

Another One For the Guys

I don't often come across jewelry that men would actually wear. But, these cuff-links by Aussie designer Rebecca Ward are cool enough for any guy!! Handcrafted from sterling silver and pebbles found in remote New Zealand beaches, these are a sophisticated and contemporary accessory that would elevate any dress shirt to the next level!

Now, I know it is too late to get in time for Father's Day, but these would be well worth the wait!!

Nice Rack

Father's Day is this Sunday, and I realized that I didn't post any finds for dads. So, (last minute...I know! Sorry!) I am posting this fabulous t-shirt from Mixed Species that I know my husband (and any casual, good-humored man) would love! Ultra soft, it is exactly the kind of tongue in cheek shirt that my husband would get a kick out wearing!!! Check out more of their great screen printed tees HERE!

Tie One On

I work in a profession where men are expected to dress work appropriate. In this day and age when most offices are "work casual" this is admittedly old school. But, in a courtroom, a judge (or your clients for that matter) won't tolerate anything less than a suit and tie. Boring right? Not with these hand screened neckties by super cool and multi-talented designer Bethany Shorb of Cyberoptics Tie Lab. Available in a variety of colors, from restrained to bright, the ties feature the most amazing screenprinted or handsewn designs along the bottom. Which means even the Gasattack, Squidbrain or Heartattack can be office appropriate when worn with a buttoned up jacket. Want a kinder, gentler tie? They've got those too. Check out the Poppies or the Fern, really beautiful prints that just beg to be seen. Now, even men can make a statement and stay classic. But, Classic with a Twist. And, lucky for us women, they are coming out with a line of hand screened ascots that can be used as scarves! So, now we can get the benefit of Bethany's amazing talent. Check out more of the designs at www.cyberoptix.com and check out Bethany's bio while you are at it...she is also a costume designer, photographer, and performer with Toybreaker and Dethlab. (I told you she was talented didn't I?)
