Happy Knits

I wear a lot of scarves in the cold winter months here in Cleveland so I am starting to look now to add to my collection to wear with my trusty (but boring) black winter coat! Happiknits is one of my favorite stores on Etsy. Using a gorgeous and luxe blend of textures and colors, Happiknits makes the most fabulous scarves, neck wraps and shrugs that are within my price point (average price range is $55) and make me feel happy just imagining all that beautiful color near my face! Happy knits...indeed! Check out more HERE.

Spring Around Your Neck

Las Lopez Las is a fantastic shop on Etsy that I just came across, and I am coveting just about everything they make! Hand knit by three sisters in Argentina, each scarf, stole and poncho is luxe, extravagant and rich. Two of my favorites are the Spring around Your Neck (pictured above) and the In Love Capelet/Wrap (pictured below). The ecru color is perfect for the cooler nights in the Summer and easily transition into the Fall (coming oh too soon!). Check out more of their collections HERE.

Look What I Got!--Fringe

The urban prairie cowl by Fringe, in bold vibrant coral, instantly updated and elevated my otherwise neutral outfit of jeans and a jacket while I was in Boston last weekend (yep...that is me on the side there!). Handknit by Fringe and then accented with an ultra feminine floral ribbon, this was the perfect accessory for my weekend jaunt with the kids. The month of May is tricky...the weather goes from warm to chilly in a minute...but this cowl kept me warm and cozy, while still looking fashionable and funky. Much easier to pack than a heavy jacket! Also available in a pretty moss green, this is a must have accessory for the Spring! Only $54! Check out more styles HERE.

Preppy and Pretty

I love to wear cute colorful belts with my jeans and tees...it is an easy way to add some personality to what can easily become a "uniform" to me (and many moms!). Elizabeth and Kate is a great shop that I stumbled upon that makes some fabulous pretty and preppy fabric and ribbon belts. Available in a wide range of fabric and ribbon choices, the ends are embellished with really cute pom poms. Prices start at only $34!

Look What I Got!

Cozy and chic, this scarflett by Haute Hooked Designs has my favorite combination of colors (orange and blue) and a heavy dose of texture with the ultra soft chenille and the wispy bits of ribbon and yarn. Plus, the gorgeous orange flower has a fantastic center brooch for a dash of romantic charm. This makes a great alternative to a necklace and I have been wearing it often when my fleece jacket and jeans is just too casual for fancy jewelry! Get your own HERE.

Gazzu!

I wear my hair in pony tails a lot and I am always on the lookout for cool hair accessories that are feminine and pretty without being juvenile (I am an adult after all!). The colorful pony tail holders from Gazzu are exactly what I have been looking for. Colorful beautiful fabrics such as cotton, linen, and silk dupioni are contrasted by gorgeous ribbons placed in abstract lines. The only downside I see with these beauties is having to share them with my daughters...Ah well, at only about $2-$3 a piece, I can afford to get plenty to share!

Flying Snail

I am in LOVE with the hand knit accessories by Ellita's Flying Snail. Gorgeous, lush, rich colors and textures make each of her pieces wearable art. These would be so fabulous over a boring turtleneck sweater, which unfortunately are a necessity here in Cleveland during the winter, for a burst of color around your face! Plus, I am positively obsessed with her stunning photography. I will be getting one of her pieces this winter...so stay tuned for the "Look What I Got!" section when I show you which one I end up getting!

The Fourth Day of Christmas

Four calling birds or one of the gorgeous Rose Scarves by Harlequin Feltworks. Available in a variety of rich and vivid colors, these scarves are just so dramatic and statement making. Living in Cleveland, where it is cold 6 months of the year, they are extremely functional as well...the perfect finishing touch to any winter coat. Each scarf is handmade from merino wool and silk chiffon, which allows for the incredible draping and movement of the piece. I couldn't pick just one favorite...

Stick it to me

I love when a person finds an area in the marketplace that is lacking and designs something that fills this void with a functional, yet still stylish, solution. Designer Rickina Velte of Stick Me Designs has created a line of accessories for people with diabetes or suffer from any illness that requires constant monitoring and testing. Each of the carrying cases are designed with beautifully feminine and modern fabrics that fits everything you need into an incredibly cute and practical package. Each bag contains numerous clear interior pockets, so everything is visible and you don't need to rummage around for your testing items or medicine. Testing your blood sugar never looked so good! (FYI...these also work fabulously as a makeup bag...the perfect solution to throw your basics for during the day in one handy pouch.)

Snow Queen

Utilitarian and functional, yet still undeniably feminine, these amazing hats by Gobbolino are perfect for the long winter months. Influenced by the street wear of the Haruko girls of Japan, Gobbolino's designs have a urban, clubby feel to them, however, they can easily be worn by even the most sophisticated! Made from ultra-warm fleece and faux fur, these hats are chic, fun, and just flat-out cool. Check out more designs HERE.

November Chill

The temperatures in Cleveland are finally starting to drop, which means I need to pull out my warmer coats and accessories to make sure I don't freeze with the lake effect chill. Elena Karo of Tickled Pink Knits makes the most beautiful hand knit accessories from merino and alpaca wool, fine cotton and, my favorite, cashmere! I have a gorgeous black cashmere winter coat (don't most of you own a black winter coat??) and one of my favorite ways in the winter to add that pop of color to what seems like an endless season of gray is to accessorize with colorful funky hats, scarves and gloves. Luxurious, yet totally affordable, Elena's creations are the perfect finishing touch to my "uniform" during the winter! Because cold weather and winter coats are no excuse to put fashion on hold. (Here in Cleveland, that would be 6 months!!) Check out more designs HERE.

Covered up in Cashmere

I have a collection of over 30 pashminas...they are truly a must-have fashion accessory for any woman because of their true versatility. The perfect wrap to throw on over a fancy dress, a wonderful way to jazz up a pair of jeans, or a cozy blanket to bring on an airplane (please...don't tell me you use those airplane blankets!). Cashmere pashminas cover up cold shoulders and warm the hearts of those who wear it!! The Pashmina Store offers one of the best selections of pashminas around, with an amazing color selection, and, hands down, the best prices around! Plus, the Pashmina Shop will donate 5% of the purchase of any pink item to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Check out their amazing selection HERE.

Grown Up Glamour

I have a ton of purses. Really. A ton of them. But, most of them are everyday bags. Nothing that is suitable for evening. The Cosmo cocktail bag by designer Cristie Alfie is exactly what I need on those rare occasions when I actually get to go out with my husband or friends. Charming, sophisticated, and surprisingly affordable at $85, this bag would be the perfect final touch to an outfit!! See more of their collection, including some great commute bags, HERE.

OZ style

Jarren Borghero is the designer behind the Australian label Temono, a stylish and fabulous accessories line that makes gorgeous handbags, wallets, belts and jewelry out of leather. Each piece is handmade, from the original sketch, to the sourcing of materials, to the actual construction. The attention to detail is evident in all of the pieces, but my favorite, is the Te Fold bag. Large enough to fit all of your daily needs, without looking like a duffle bag, this is a stylish and edgy way to carry your daily necessities. Hand crafted from supple leather in either brown or dark red, you can choose whether to add a pop of punchy color in your choice of green, blue or aqua. Perfect for a man or woman! See more of his amazing collections HERE.

Travel in Style

Being the jewelry lover that I am, I always bring tons of jewelry when I go on vacation. However, I usually just throw everything into a cardboard jewelry box and put a rubber band around it. Functional. Of course. But oh so ugly. These travel jewelry pouches by Vaska are the perfect solution to transport my jewelry. Made of luxe fabrics, like silk dupoini, taffeta, and faux fur velvet, and adorned with special details like embroidered flowers or brown velvet trim, these jewelry pouches are practical yet pretty enough to use as an evening bag!! The interiors of these bags (pictured below) are fantastic...lined in silk dupoini, each jewelry bag has a mesh layer inside to securely hold your earrings, hooks along the bottom to hold your necklaces, and three interior pockets to protect all your valuables!! A clever loop at the top enables you to hang your bag at your destination to display your jewelry. What a wonderful way to travel in style!!

Andrea's Beau

I came across Andrea's Beau while looking for some cute fun hair accessories for my daughter and was impressed with the range of products they have for little girls. Which got me thinking that these would also look good on women of all ages. Going to a happy hour after work? What an easy way to look great from office to after-hours...one or two of these decorative pins (seen left) on short hair or randomly placed in a loose updo for long hair would look instantly chic and sexy--and totally grownup. These gorgeous headbands (pictured below) have an opulent mix of jewels and sequins that would look great for a nice date with my husband. Finally, a fashion accessory that I can share with my children!
